Well... huh. A lot of people responded positively to that E3 Let's Place. Apparently some of you like this garbage??? In that case, who am I to keep it from you. This week, I'm joined by Chelsea, Crystal, Simon and Molly to talk about cute independent adventure games, Neo Geo sports, bespoke doujin fighters, video games that committed treason against the U.S. Government, and that critical darling of 2015, Bl'db'rn'. Episode 44: 2017 E3 Spectacular

You know what? Let's Place is TOO WET AND WILD for a regular update schedule. We'll be coming at you at, essentially, completely arbitrary moments, but at the bare minimum we're going to try to be here to help you celebrate all the HOT MOMENTS IN GAMING, like this year's E3! Episode 43: Dark Souls II

WE'RE BACK. Let's Place starts its third season, after wrapping up a second season that... had a single-digit number of episodes. Whoops! Anyway, Luke is joined this week by Molly, Matt, and newcomers Kendall and Marl. After a very important sub-placing session where they rank seven Marvel Comics superheroes, they get to work discussing GBA movie tie-in games, the fact that none of them know anything about TaleSpin, the ancient precursor to Grand Theft Auto, a terrible card game, and one of the greatest action RPGs of all time. YOUR GAMES THIS WEEK ARE: The Incredibles, for the Gameboy Advance; TaleSpin, for Sega Genesis; New York City: The Big Apple, for the Atari 8-Bit; Acey-Deucy, for the Apple II; and Dark Souls II, for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. Episode 42: Hoard

This episode starts off already off the rails as new guest Gorge calls in from... his car, while he drives around town. He's joined by returning guests Mike, Ty, and Tal to help Luke discuss Playstation 2 baseball games, decentish mobile ports, terrible virtual card games, obscenely late PSX games, and our unapologetic bias towards games where you play as a dragon. YOUR GAMES THIS WEEK ARE: Astral Tournament, for PC; All-Star Baseball 2002, for Playsation 2; Dynamite Jack, for PC; Dora the Explorer: Barnyard Buddies, for Playstation; and Hoard, for Playstation 3. Episode 38: Advance of the Megacamel

I'm joined this week by Zack, Matt, Mike and Ashley, and if they can SHUT UP long enough for me to get on with the show, we'll discuss Jeff Minter's early obsession with drug-fueled quadrapeds, the barren wasteland that was Xbox Live Indie Games, the... classic? Spy vs. Spy franchise, the power of bigoted jokes to completely destroy an otherwise entertaining product, and one of the most influential and divisive games of the last decade. YOUR GAMES THIS WEEK ARE: Advance of the Megacamel AKA Attack of the Mutant Camels, for Atari 8-bit and PC; Who Did I Date Last Night?, for Xbox 360; Spy Vs. Spy 3: Arctic Antics, for PC and Atari 8-bit; Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger VS Darkdeath Evilman, for PSP; and Dark Souls, for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Episode 37: Tecmo World Wrestling

Okay, look. LOOK. This episode was RIDDLED with technical problems. It might be the single most technically fraught episode of Let's Place yet, and I'm including the one where I had to re-record the audio for over half of an episode. It was just a mess. Don't use Discord to record podcasts! It does a bad job. Anyway, if you can bear with us, I'm joined this week by Dina and new friends Josh, Jules, and Matt. We talk about seminal RTS games, terrible PC shovelware, morally dubious Atari games, awesome wrestling games, and we finally decide between Final Fight and Final Fight Guy. YOUR GAMES THIS WEEK ARE: Command and Conquer: Red Alert, for PC; Splash, for PC; Battle of Shiloh, for PC and Atari; Tecmo World Wrestling, for NES; and Final Fight, for SNES. You can find the complete up-to-date list of games at bit.ly/letsplace. Be sure to follow @SSJSpeedRacer on twitter for show announcments. You might be a guest on the next Let's Place!

Episode 36: The Fabulous Screech

WE'RE BACK. After a break that's been long enough that we're now averaging less than one episode a week, Let's Place has returned for Season 2! We got a new website, a new method for sourcing guests, and a new logo! Also I'm gonna stop writing these descriptions in the third person so I hope that's cool. Anyway, I'm joined by longstanding guests Tal and Dina, along with previous guest Tyler and a brand new friend, Fionna! Tal's attempt to be more positive is immediately destroyed by a bad Professor Layton knock-off, we learn how to LIVE FAST and DIE WET, Fionna MOCKS ME INCESSANTLY FOR THE PERFECTLY NORMAL WAY I PRONOUNCE "CRAYON," we get into some straight up Spongebob talk, and for the encore, we return to one of our favorite topics: horrifying children's games. YOUR GAMES THIS WEEK ARE: Laura Jones and the Gates of Good and Evil, for PC; Dead in the Water, for Playstation; The Fabulous Screech, for PC; Nickelodeon's Spongebob Squarepants: Spongebob's Truth or Square; and Elsa Dentist Surgery Simulator. You can find the up to date list of ranked games at bit.ly/letsplace. Follow @SSJSpeedRacer on Twitter to suggest games for us to rank and to have a chance at guesting on the show!

Episode 35: Poems By Heart

It's that time again, everyone. Luke is joined by Sam, Tal, Jason and Graham to talk about pre-Flash Flash games, dubious Scottish ancestry, iPhone poetry, Japanese highway fireworks, and the last piece of our Pokemon puzzle (no relation to Pokemon Puzzle League, a  game we have not yet ranked).

Episode 33: Qwak!

Luke and Tal are joined by a new guest, Tyler, who unfortunately had some technical difficulties on his end that makes this episode sound like someone farting into a French horn. But that doesn't stop us from talking about subpar train simulators, the progenitor of Asteroids, the progenetor of Duck Hunt, Indiana Jones adventure games, and god-awful Sonic the Hedgehog knock-offs. Also it turns out that Tal is a duck.

Episode 32: Wii Sports

Alright alright alright, that's enough with the special episodes. We have work to do here. Luke is joined by Jason, Though Criminal Zack, Lau, and new guest Greg. They talk about obnoxious tryhard comedy, some game I didn't even remember that we ranked, the early days of the Fire Emblem series, our unironic love for Wii Sports, and competitive puzzlers. Also: lots and lots and lots of breast expansion fetishism. YOUR GAMES THIS WEEK ARE: The Bard's Tale, for Playstation 2, Xbox, PC, Mobile, and Ouya; Stellar 7: Draxon's Revenge, for the 3D0; Fire Emblem Gaiden, for the Famicom; Wii Sports, for the Wii; and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, for PS3 and Xbox 360. You can find the up-to-date list of ranked games at bit.ly/letsplace

Episode 31: Pokemon Yellow Version

The much-hyped Pokemon episode is finally here! Luke is joined with Tal and Dina to suss out just how the various first generation Pokemon games stack up against one another. It turns out that there were so many different versions of the first Pokemon that we couldn't even cover them all in this episode! YOUR GAMES THIS WEEK ARE: Pokemon Red Version (Japan), for GameBoy; Pokemon Green Version, for GameBoy; Pokemon Red Version (America), for GameBoy, Pokemon Blue Version (America), for GameBoy; and Pokemon Yellow Version, for GameBoy. You can find the up-to-date list of ranked games at bit.ly/letsplace

Episode 30: The 2015 Game of the Year Screamathon

We're back after wayyyyy too long of a hiatus. On the other hand I published 6 months worth of episodes in about a third of that time, so I earned the break right? No? Okay. This time we deviate from our normal format a bit, as Luke gathers an all too cramped room of guests together to rank five of the most critically acclaimed games of 2015. The results may shock you! Blame Jason, Dina, Dustin, Lau, and Tal for the following crimes against video games. YOUR GAMES THIS WEEK ARE: Super Mario Maker, for Wii U; Rocket League, for PS4 and PC, and I think Xbox One by now?; Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360, and PS3; Undertale, for PC; and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. You can see the up to date ranked list at bit.ly/letsplace.
