Episode 57 - Heart of Ice (Batman: The Animated Series S01E14)

Heart of Ice 1.jpg

It's one of the good ones, folks. The gang has finally gotten to the Emmy Award winning debut of Bruce Timm and Paul Dini working together in the DCAU to reinvent Mr. Freeze into one of Batman's most tragic villains. It's time for Heart of Ice.

The guys spend a shocking amount of time on topic, admiring the quality of the episode on just about every level, but even with the top-shelf cartooning on display they still managed to find time to meet Mitch's new ghost baby, Zero, Cameron gets bombed and Graham busts out a solid Mr. Freeze impression!

Your Komix Korner recommendation this week is Babyteeth by Donny Cates and Garry Brown.

Episode 21 - Meltdown (Batman Beyond S01E05)

FREEZEPEEZY

Y'all, this show is good. This week, we get our first of the few multi-generational Batman Beyond villains in one Dr. Victor Fries! Yes, to his great chagrin, Victor is still alive, and it's up to our Batmen to... protect him?! *record scratch* Elsewhere in the episode: Zack grapples again with his arch nemesis, Audio Oopsies, Cameron consumes a lavish banquet on-mic, Mitchell reluctantly certifies the concept of wrestling entertainment on the whole as "good," and we collectively babble about Fire Emblem ad nauseum. Be sure to stay tuned until the very end of the episode, dear listener, when our very own Graham AKA Grahamuel AKA "Grahamsta" delivers us... to paradise.

Your Komix Korner/The Fuck You Read?'s recommendation for this week is Pluto, by Naoki Urasawa, Osamu Tezuka, and Takashi Nagasaki.
